The china town busses can be hit or miss. A few months back a bunch of china town busses were impounded for a few days by NYPD and people could not get a refund. A safer (and just as cheap) idea is to go to the Port Authority. Greyhound and Academy busses leave every half hour. $31 round trip and each casing gives you between $17 and $20 in cash when you get there. You just have to check the schedule to see what bus you want to catch as each bus goes to a different casino.

Except for that the OP was asking about Foxwoods, that's all good advice.

There's Short Line from the GWB, which has the great advantage over Greyhound of only taking 3 hours (rather than 3.5 to 5), but the great disadvantage of only running once a day.

I think there's one that leaves from 8th Avenue in the upper 50s in Brooklyn Chinatown around 9pm. I think the standard is that they spend 6hours at the casino. There may be other departure times in the A.M. as I've seen some casino buses lining up around the same place but I don't know if they were bound for AC, Foxwoods or both.

i'd say the best way is to catch those busses to Foxwoods in Chinatown or Flushing. Arrive like over 30 min. early to get tickets cuz they sell like hotcakes.

They are only $10 round trip per ticket with a $2 tip on the return trip. Takes about ~2.5 hours to get there, and you get four $10 match play coupons for table games plus a $12 coupon for any food or shopping places. Everytime i go to Foxwoods, I dump $40 bucks with all the match play coupons on one hand of blackjack and go straight to poker.

It beats the crap out of Greyhound pricewise.

They don't have hotcakes in Chinatown, they have Pork Buns.

A tip? Did you say tip? Shouldn't tipping Bus Drivers be discussed in a separate dedicated thread?

When the bus catches fire or crashes en route, do you still have to tip?
