Folding pockets under 88 in 6max Limit 10/20 - 30/60 games
I'm considering folding all pocket pairs UTG and UTG+1 from 22 to 77. Quite often you get three bet and most times you miss and there are 1 or 2 or 3 overcards. Then what? Check and fold? C/R. It just becomes a guessing game. Does he have it? Also when they hit their draws, they punish you, so how do you stand the heat with such a flimsy hand?
Feedback appreciated. |

Re: Folding pockets under 88 in 6max Limit 10/20 - 30/60 games
I only play 10/20 so have little insight higher than that - I am folding 22,33,44 UTG all of the time, 55-66 I raise UTG 50% of the time/fold the rest (depending on table conditions), 77+ I raise 95% of the time. Typically, if I get three bet I am checking most flops and taking it from there (regardless of the board I check most flops, and then either CC or CR the turn) - af

c/c the flop and the turn unless the board gets too scary. On the river you need a read against whom you can fold.

I usually open with 55+ from UTG and then 44+ from UTG+1. 33+ from the CO and 22+ on the button.

[/ QUOTE ] Just a thought, but maybe you could cap preflop more often after getting 3-bet? It makes the hand a lot easier to play with overcards on the board, and it makes it a lot easier to fold to resistance. If not, don't be afraid to continue on boards with overcards. The board will miss their hand a lot too. For what it's worth, I always raise 66 UTG and sometimes 55. MP I raise 55 all the time, 44 in CO, and rarely, if ever, 22 or 33 OTB. |

so Your poker tracker stats say playing this way is +EV??
How much earn? Because if its close to breakeven then dropping it would decrease variance...It just sucks when you raise, get a couple of callers .... then what? check and call.... seems weak..... |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm also considering folding TT, JJ, and QQ UTG. I mean WTF do I do when the flop comes AKX and I've got these hands?!?!?!?! You play a hand if its profitable in a given situation and fold if it isn't. It is profitable for me to play 44+ UTG in most situations so I play it. It's not ususally profitable for me to play 33+ UTG so I muck it. Pretty simple. It's up to you to find that breakeven point. ___1___ |

My PT says (UTG, filtered for 6 players, 1020+):
44: 32 times, VPIP 40%, +0.29 BB/hand 55: 24, 91%, +1.39 66: 29, 100%, +0.81 77: 33, 100%, +1.23 |

I was being serious. But you had to be an ass with your sarcastic comments. There is a world of difference between pocket fives and queens.
Stop being an ass, or post on someone else's thread. |
