kidney/lower back pain
for about 26 hrs now I've been feeling a dull aching throbbing in my lower left kidney when I stand up - I drank about a 2 liter of Mt. Dew on Sat. night and smoked a little green, and suddenly blammo -
hunching over or fetal position makes the pain go away - but if I stand up and start walking I get that dull aching throw right about where the hip, kidney, and lower back all meet - don't think it's a stone - not as painful as I've heard they could be but then the bastard feels like if I have one it hasn't left the kidney yet - hoping it's just an infection or hernia - I should be so lucky, right? guess it's off to urgent care in the morning - ach. I hate [censored] getting old. RB |

Re: kidney/lower back pain
It could be a kidney infection. Those can be painful.

Re: kidney/lower back pain
I took a couple jugs of water back from MT last month - I've kept it refrigerated but it's a big jug - I'm probably bacteria central - fruck -
everything I know about myself would suggest to me it's not a stone - I don't know anyone in my family who's had them or is succeptible - if you're right - some antibiotics and I'll be back in shape - RB |

Re: kidney/lower back pain
That's the problem dude. Don't drink water!
I haven't drunk water for decades now, unless naturally carbonated. Still (dead) water just doesn't do it for me. All the same, dude, I would not worry too much about whether it is a stone or not. It could be many things. A doctor visit is probably indicated. Hope you get better soon... and stay away from still waters. |

Re: kidney/lower back pain
I had this once. It didnīt go away until I decided to drink alot of beer one evening, which made it completely and almost immediatly disappear. Thereīs no guaranty this will work for you, but I seriously recommend it. Make sure itīs a good beer, though.

Re: kidney/lower back pain
For what it's worth, the first symptom for my kidney stones is that I have a constant feeling of having to urinate that never goes away. The pain is the last thing to come, and you've heard right, it's about the worst pain imaginable. As I understand it though, this isn't the same for everybody. Good luck.

Re: kidney/lower back pain
a bacterial infection from bad water would probably present itself as diarrhea, i doubt it could make it you your urinary tract without causing some other symptoms first
UTIs are pretty rare in men...go see an MD |
