Default raising the turn and checking the river

Canterbury 15/30 9 handed

BB here is simply horrible. very passive. calls lots. MP here is an old dude who i have played with a bit. he can get somewhat aggro, but not spazzy by any means. he knows and respects my play.

EP limps, MP limps, I raise A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the CO, button calls because he is an idiot, BB calls.

flop 5 ways: A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
checks to MP who bets, I raise, folds to BB who calls, MP 3bets, I call, BB calls.

turn 3 ways: J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
BB checks, MP bets, I raise, BB calls 2 cold, MP says "wow" and calls.

river: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
BB checks, MP checks, I check.

thoughts?

I easily fold to the 3-bet on the flop. You are way too likely to be drawing slim/dead with no club in your hand.

On the flop I put BB on an A w/ a big [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], two pair, a set or naked K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (maybe even a baby flush if he is passive enough). I put MP on at least two pair a set or a flush. Against the hands you're likely against, how can you continue?

It should be fairly obvious by the turn that BB has the K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], set, scared flush and less likely two pair. And MP has either a set, two pair or a non-nut flush. I would personally vote for a scared baby flush. I wouldn't be in this hand in the first place, but the turn was the most "ideal" card for you as you beat any other two pair hands now. Raising the turn is a must.

River: If you felt you were drawing live on the flop and were good on the turn, you should be value betting this river. This river check is totally inconsistent with your actions up to this point.

Is it totally inconceivable for MP to have A7? And by the way, it is only one of many hands I put MP on that likely has you crushed at this point.

Were you planning to call down unimproved if no clubs appeared on the turn and river?

What hands did you put BB and MP on as the action went along?

BB has a big club there every time. MP could as well or some madness like ATc. He doesn't have the nuts as he c/r
s that on the flop. i didn't think it likely for him to have baby clubs, as he is not that loose.

Could MPs hand look any more like 77 or JT/T9/QT of clubs?

bet/fold river? or bet/call? just bet. does it have to be a flush or set to payoff?

Nice river check - it would be a shame to lose any more bets to what looks like a set from MP. I think the flop is close since you said MP can get somewhat aggro on occasion.
