Default BBV Cross-Post: Not Seeing The Terrible Play?

This hand was a PP 2KNL hand that was posted as a bad beat, but several very well-respected posters barbecued the OP on the play of the hand. Other than maybe folding preflop, was the hand really played that badly? And would this be a different story on my current PP NL100 level?

Party Poker 2KNL (6 Max)

MP ($2020)
Hero ($2743.84)
Button ($4158)
SB ($2878)
BB ($1433)
UTG ($3107)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls $20, MP folds, Hero calls $20, Button calls $20, SB folds, BB checks.

Flop: ($90) 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $90 , Button calls $90, BB folds, UTG folds.

Turn: ($270) 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $220, Button raises to $600 , Hero calls $380.

River: ($1470) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $2100, Hero calls $2033.84 (All-In).

Final Pot: $5603.84

op, you missed the history on those comments. Saying "way to go broke with the 3rd nuts" or "skalsnsky wouldn't go broke there" isn't insulting the op, it's just a running joke (it's actually making fun of sklansky, not HEK).
The guy that made that stupid comment about "putting that much money with the worse possible quads" is either using sarcasm or just an idiot.

Other than maybe folding preflop

I think the general advice was to raise pre, not fold.

Actually the turn and river play here are kind of interesting.

I'm thinking more of El D's and Strasser's comments than the standard 2p2 sarcasm. They seemed to be at least somewhat serious.

yeah, those are serious but in this kind of game you can always question the turn and river line there.

I think they don't like the way the money went in and preferred if hero put it in.

I'd suggest they want the money in on the turn before 4th spade hits and a flush gets a chance to put us on a boat, or we lose a str8. c/c river loses value from flushes which will often check behind on this scary board while 1/2 pot will at least sometimes make a crying call.
