So I'm playing a tourney using pokerace, and pokertracker like I've done for the past 80,000 cash game hands on party. When all of a sudden a pop up tells me party has detetected illegal software on my comp and to shut it down or they will close my account and take my money. I read on twoplustwo the other day about poker edge so I was inputing the players on my tourney table names onto the website, but I wasn't using their software. Do they install spyware when you surf their site, or is party now detecting poker tracker and poker ace?

Unlucky.
The Poker-Edge website places a cookie on your computer, which Party can detect - the presence of this cookie is enough to convince Party that you use Poker-Edge, therefore they give you the "unfair advantage" pop-up. Clear Internet Explorer cookies, DO NOT use Poker-Edge website, and you may get away with just this warning. If Party detect your use of Poker-Edge again, chances are your account will be closed/banned. Good luck, dave. |

They can also detect that the website is open in IE/Firefox, doesn't have to set a cookie.
