Re: Is getting 9-1 enough for a call here?
I didn't even look at the hand... but 9 to 1... you're in good shape. Call.
Against the right player... maybe even a steal raise would be acceptable... but I doubt he calls the turn and folds to a river raise. Call... hope you're chopping and he tried to represent the scare card. I'm suprised that with a hand like pair/big flush draw (I'm guessing that's what he had, somthing like AJ with Ace of hearts) he didn't lead bet the turn. |

Could even be a 3-way chop.

Are you guys joking about the chop? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I don't get that either, but I'd call expecting to lose but happy to beat two pair or crap once in a while. :\ |

I was saying to hope for a chop... I think he's losing... but at 9 to 1... who can resist.
P.S. Of course he was joking... the guy has M.J. Shakey for his avatar |

Shakey for his avatar [/ QUOTE ] I don't understand why you'd be hoping for a chop. You're chopping here pretty close to never. [/ QUOTE ] I think your underestimating the chop potential here. Yes, when villain has AK there are more combos of freerolling AK's that beat us than chop with us (5 to 4), but you have to discount the 5 combos of AK beating us given theturn play. DOes villain really not either bet the turn (lookng to three-bet) or C/R when he has turned B'way with a redraw to the nut flush ro second nut flush. I am also having trouble with villain having any of AA-TT the way the hand was played (or even AQ for that mater; or two pair hands like QJ, etc.). That leaves hands like AJ or maybe AT. So, I think villain has a fairly narrow range here and we are chopping with AK somewhat often. I also call by the way since I think villain is bluffing or chopping with us enough given the pot odds. |
