It really exposes them in their little dislike of 2+2.
Lots of CP readers who see this poll who know nothing about CP not liking 2+2 will see this poll and think "WTF?" and I just don't think that's something they should be publicizing (which they are essentially doing here).


They had started winning me over again because I had read a couple of articles that I liked and I thought MAYBE, just MAYBE, I was getting something out of their mag.

But when they pull crap like this I think it's just embarassing.

I'll still pick it up for free at the B&M when I swing by though.


Not that would matter for me because I'm pretty unlikely to be in such a position, but lots of 2+2'ers are playing at the various WSOP events and somebody among us might do well in an event or two.


My recommendation if cardplayer asks to do an interview with you after you win your bracelet there (interview for either their mag or their online-podcast thingee) would be to either tell them to F-Off or to do the interview and talk non-stop about how great 2+2 is.


Seriously, we talk about cardplayer all the time over here. If they have something interesting or exciting to say we talk about it.

the recent articles by Allyn Jaffrey on the online-gambling legislation, the write-up of Schneids, the article about WPEX are recent examples where they got positive reviews around here.

So why are they so insecure that they feel they have to pretend that 2+2 doesn't even exist?
It's embarassing that they would choose to act that way.

What is the general criticism of 2+2? I love the 2+2 books, and where these guys are coming from in their approach to the game....but I do notice on other message boards, or in a lot of the Amazon book reviews of this anti-2+2 bias (or, to be fair, a very pro-2+2 bias)....where does that come from & what is the general criticism?

"What is the general criticism of 2+2." That's easy to answer in one word, "arrogance." 2+2 is like the NY Yankees, the USA Olympic basketball teams, Barry Bonds, Jeff Gordon when he was winning all those NASCAR races,Bill O'reilly of Fox News(although this guy just sucks)but is still arrogant. I believe the average person likes to root against the smug. I can live with the king of the hill attitude(because they are the best) and enjoy the pastime of poker knowledge I get from their forum, magazine and books; but for many others the lack of Humility and perceived intolerance from those outside 2+2 has created some enemies.
