Poker.com First Impression
After reading about poker.com's strong move in the CNR WSOP thread I decided to check them out.
Support answered my simple question quickly, sensibly, in English. I had no trouble installing the software and setting up a real money account. The T&C were quite long and mildly disturbing (standard). There wasn't much real money action at 4:30am EST. I did notice some unusual features in their software: <ul type="square">[*]In a ring game (even limit) they show the cards when the remaining players are all-in, and they show the equity % for each player, updating them as the cards come.[*]They allow you to create your own table, picking game, limits, structure, and public/private.[*]They appeared to % rake limit games, like NL is ordinarily done.[*]They allow you to fold & show one card:[/list]Dealing Flop (Jh,9d,5d) turoc777 Bets $0.04 IamTheDonkey Raised to $0.56 Scoop82 Folds turoc777 Folds and Shows Js I suspect they have more surprises than the ones I found in my short session. |

Re: Poker.com First Impression
They're also incredibly swingy. Expect to see lots of 23 to 1 runner runner flush draws. I ran a $50 N/D affiliate deal up to 200 there, then moved to a NL $1/2 table, got KK on my BB, got three callers to a $20 PFR, checked a K73 rainbow flop, then pushed over the top of a $40 bet and got called.
Opponent shows K8s. Runner runner flush, even before the software shows equity percentages. I wish I had a bankroll that could support going back to NL200 and slaughtering that guy... |

Re: Poker.com First Impression
I played on the site a few months back. I played the low limit game. There never seemed to be more than two tables going at once at this level. But people were friendly and pay out was prompt. I also thought the free rolls were a good deal.

Do you get to choose the card you show? Becuase that'd be awesome!

They also give you the option to rabbit the cards to see how the hand would have played out.
Not real useful but fun |

Re: Poker.com First Impression
Poker.com is a great site, as soon as they get more traffic it will be even better. They are supposedly having some kind of series of tournaments in July or something which should be interesting.
