Default Bankroll management?

I hear this term often but I am unsure what it means. Does it just mean don't play games that are a large percentage of your BR?

Bankroll Management: Rules/Structures people go by to decide what limits they are going to play in, an effort to lower their Risk of Ruin.

Examples...
300-500bb in a limit game
20-30 Buy-In's in a NL Game

I'm sure everybody does something different, but I'd consider having 1/4 of your bankroll or more in play "Taking a Shot" (no matter how +EV the game).

It's an antiquated concept left over from early, risk-averse poker players. You can ignore it nowadays.

That, and also it means to manage how your bankroll is used away from the poker table. If you have a big winning session, don't go and blow it all on some new things, because the big wins are there to cushion the inevitable losses.

Ed Miller has some good articles about it on his website, look it up. Don't remember the address.
