NYC to AC
I will be in NYC this summer and I was wondering how long it would take to get from NYC to AC out of Port Authority on a bus? What would be the ideal time to leave?

Re: NYC to AC
Takes about 3 hours. What days are you planning on going? I would try to catch an early bus on the weekends and Fridays because of traffic to the Jersey Shore. Otherwise leave before 3 during the week and after 730.

Re: NYC to AC
Don't take Port Authority. Take the buses servicing the Asian community for $10 dollars. You get free $20 for slots, and $30 match play or something like that. These buses are all over in Flushing, and Canal/Bowery Chinatown also.

Re: NYC to AC
The advantage of Greyhound (or Academy) from the Port Authority is that you have an open return (i.e. you can take any bus you want back). Is the same true in Chinatown?

When I'm feeling degen I still take the PA bus, I've heard rumors of the Ctown busses but I've never seen them walking through the area. |

Re: NYC to AC
You might not want to take the Chinatown buses as their accident record is kind of high. One incident was a bus crash, after the driver fell asleep.

Re: NYC to AC
Try to avoid the bus from 4-7 pm esp on Friday. It can take up to 5 hours. I recommend Academy bus over Greyhound.
