How do I get more value from this set? (100NL 6 Max)
Villian is a curious creature. He's been raising a fair bit preflop but doesn't seem to c-bet when he misses. Twice before he's raised and then check/folded to me on the flop.
Perhaps he thinks I'm stealing, but it looks like he could have the flush draw (his turn bet looks like he wants a cheap river). My raise was so I could get the rest in on the river, but I think it was overkill. Comments? No-Limit Hold'em, $100 BB (6 handed) I have $81ish (yes, I should have reloaded...) Villain covers. Preflop: Hero is on the Button with 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG raises to 3, 2 folds, Hero calls $3, SB calls $2.50, BB calls $2. Flop: ($12) A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $10, 2 folds, UTG calls. Turn: ($32) Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG bets 6, Hero raises to 30, UTG folds. Final Pot: $68

meh, looks like a diamond draw trying to play for cheap with the turn blocker. i like your play. makes for an easy push on the river if he calls. villan has little to play with here...your not getting any more because he doesnt have a hand. you played it great imo.

Think you could have gotten another 12 out of him. He needed 5:1 to call and you gave him just better than 2:1. Could have raised 12 and he would have improperly called.

[/ QUOTE ] Hmmm I'm assuming Intelligence again........ however if the donk played 23 suited then 14 bucks is probably better however seeing as he laid down to the big bet I have to imagine he had a standard holding.
