Default Trips with 82

6 handed 10 20, opponent has $1500 and I cover. All I know about him is he got it allin with AK on KQJ after small preflop action for about 1500 against AT. Seems solid otherwise.

He limps SB. I check 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Flop is K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
check I bet $40 he calls.

i just wanted to take the pot away without giving free cards

Turn 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] check I bet $80 he raises to $240 and I call.

OK now I have trips which I figure to be best hand against KT or something. The raise is suspicious and I dont know if he would call the flop with just 2, or would he try something with 54 or take big value with K. Overall I have no idea where I stand so I call

River Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] he bets out $300 and I call.

Now this looks alot like value bet, but it is so small that I have to call it just for the small chance he could have something else then 2

Comments about my thought process and how I played this hand?

The opponen had A2, so maybe I was just being result oriented and I'm supposed to lose some on pots like this.

The hand isn't too bad, but that's funny, I should use that philosophy more often when I play.
