Re: State executioner as a job
Their job required complete discretion and reticence. Which puts the hangman in a the same sort of quandary that I find myself ( a poker player ) in. I very much hate revealing what I do for a living in public, especially at the table. When hot chicks asked these fellows: “So, what do you do for a living?”, what do you suppose they would say? I always say, I’m a masseuse. How would a hangman respond?

I don't know what you're getting at, as a poker player has in much in common as a masseuse as a hangman, no? |

Re: State executioner as a job
Good catch ( I think ). Should I be saying that I am a masseur?
This line has been so good, that I'm glad you caught my mistake before I had cards printed. |

Re: State executioner as a job
A movie about Pierrepoint (called Pierrepoint in the UK, 'The Last Hangman' elsewhere) is due to be available sometime soon.
Here's the IMDB link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462477/ I didn't catch it, but it was a pretty good little production, by all accounts. I did hear an interview with the actor Timothy Spall that made it sound very serious, but quite intriguing. And I've never seen Timothy Spall ever do a bad job in anything he's done. |
