Bet the flop - take control (for 5 seconds at least). Then bet or check/call the rest of the way.

You HAVEt o bet the flop though.

I think you played the hand fine. Checking through the flop either means a complete wiff, or a monster.

My typical line is to c/r the flop, lead turn. If his continuation bet % is low, then I could see leading out on the flop.

My initial thought was to check-raise.
But after he checked, i was doubting my decision.

But the problem with betting out, if i get raised i don't know where i stand in the hand. A lot of hand could raise me here, that i bet.
But if i check-raise, and get 3 bet, my chances are slim, and i know where i stand.

I don't think a flop bet is a must. Actually, I think the flop is a must-check.

i think the correct line is bet the flop, call the raise (if any)(better players have an almost automatic raise in them on the flop in these situations). bet the turn. it's very hard for someone who doesn't have you beat to raise the turn. (if you are raised on the turn in this situation, it is usually safe to throw away your hand.) many weak players will call you down with something like j,j-q,q-10,10 etc. and i think this way you minimize your losses and maximize your profits....
