OOT, you have traveled far and wide and I seek the advise of all you travel gurus. So here's the deal: you tell me where to go and what to do, and I'll post a trip report (pretty much like 5takes on the travel channel).

I have two weeks (sometime between mid-July and late August) and $2000 I'm willing to spend.

Here are some things to consider:
I'll be going alone.
I have a girlfriend I'm committed to.

7 day Alaskan cruise, northbound from Vancouver to Anchorage, then spend a few days in and around Denali National Park. I'll be doing this next August and can learn from your trip report. Also, I will have a 3 year old and a 5 year old, so please rent a couple of little kids and let me know how things work out with them.
