Default I\'m new. I think I suck. Here\'s a couple hands?

I am normally a limit player that's bored and experimenting a little with the $25 and $50 NL games at party. I've done some reading and studying and my first thousand hands or so things were peachy until I dropped 5 or 6 buyins in a few hundred hands. Since I've never played these games before I'm assuming it's because I suck. Here's 3 fun ones:

Hand 1:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

UTG ($49.50)
Hero ($45.50)
Button ($38.17)
SB ($78.64)
BB ($47.27)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1.75</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, SB (poster) calls $1.50, BB calls $1.25.

Flop: ($5.25) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets $0.5</font>, BB calls $0.50, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $5</font>, SB calls $4.50, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to $9.5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $22</font>, SB calls $17, SB calls $23.52.

I just sat down here not long ago and this hand happened. I was worried about 33, thought the chances of that were relatively slim and that I'd see a worse 8 more often, overpairs, maybe guys getting goofy with a flush draw.

Turn: ($82.27) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>

River: ($82.27) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>

Hand 2:
BB here is loose/passive, really really bad the other guy I don't know.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Button ($66.15)
SB ($33.85)
BB ($66.96)
UTG ($72.50)
Hero ($50)
CO ($50)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25. CO posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.50, CO (poster) checks, Button calls $0.50, SB (poster) completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($3) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(6 players)</font>
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $2.25</font>, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB calls $2.25, UTG calls $2.25.

Turn: ($9.75) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $14</font>, BB calls $14, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $40</font>, UTG calls $24.21 (and BB gets all in as well.)

River: ($101.96) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>

Final Pot: Actually 180 or so.

Hand 3:
This guy has been relatively quiet, 30/3 or so.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Button ($52.50)
SB ($39.18)
BB ($49)
UTG ($94.95)
Hero ($50)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $2</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, SB (poster) calls $1.75, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>.

Flop: ($4.50) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $3</font>, SB calls $3.

Turn: ($10.50) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
I bet 12, He raises 24 I'm all in $33, He calls $10 and is all in (converter messed up)

River: ($76.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

Final Pot: $76.50

Help!

hands 1 and 2 are standard. Hand 3 you can find a fold with AA on an extremely coordinated board like that one....you are almost never ahead after that turn raise. I'd probably lead for less than you did and fold to a raise.

Edit - i keep forgetting to look at preflop. Hand 1 is probably a fold preflop, not a raise.

Thanks, I'll remember that in hand 3. Is hand 3 preflop at least close?

It's a marginal hand that leads to uncomfortable spots often post flop. Since you are new at NL, you probably want to avoid these for the time being. On the hand in question, trips with the best kicker isn't a tough spot, but had the flop come ace high and you'd have gotten raised, then you'd be in a tough spot. See my point?

hand 3: I've yet to see a turn min check raise in a raised pot be anything other than a strong hand . . .

First hand I fold preflop.

2nd hand it sounds like you're beat but I would probly gladly lose my $50 to win $180 if I could do this 10 times. If someone called that to the river with QT then they're my new best friend.

Last hand is tough. You could be behind a set or a JT straight (everyone LOVES JT in low limit). Probly a safe play to fold. I can't see you ahead of anything here except 66, TT, maybe AT?

In the third hand, anyone likes the overbet on the turn? I think it is better to bet something around 8.

btw, I am curious why there is nobody suggesting him to play full ring games since he is new. In 6-max games, there are more (semi-)bluffings. Of course, table selection is always important.
