Torture Devices

These are my picks for the most brutal torture devices:

1) the Iron Maiden - it's like a Mummy's casket with spikes that would poke you in the back and on the front once it is closed down on you. There are spikes that correspond with your eyes and genitals.

2) The Pear - it was used during the Spanish Inquisition against the "heretics". It would be inserted closed into the mouth of the victim. Then it would be unscrewed until the jaw would break. For those who committed homosexuality, it would be placed inside the butt and then opened. For women, it would be inserted into her vagina.

3) Another form of torture which was really brutal was where they tied all four limbs with ropes and then attached them to four horses that simultaneously ran in four different directions on cue. All four limbs would be separated from the body at the same time. Sorry, no pics.

What's your choice for the most brutal form of human torture?

I read somewhere that they used to tie people upside down between two trees and saw them in half from the crotch down. Since the victim's blood would rush to his head, he remained alive and conscious until the saw got all the way down to his heart.

1 and 3 aren't torture devices, they are methods of execution.

Nit pick time. The horse thing is simply 'Quartered'. If they disembowled you first (before the horses took off) that was 'Drawn'. Both done was 'Drawn and Quartered'.
