Using two LCDs with different resolutons
Is there a problem with doing this? I have a 17in LCD and am thinking about buying a 20in. the 17 inch has a lower resolution than the 20in. Is there a problem with this if I am using both monitors as one big screen? I would think if a window was spread between the two monitors the differnt resolution would cause the document to look different on the different monitors. Is this a problem at all or should I just buy the 20in LCD. Thanks

Re: Using two LCDs with different resolutons
No problem under Windows XP.
(Windows 2000 would get confused by this ocassionally.) |

Re: Using two LCDs with different resolutons
I am using 2 CRTS, one 19" at 1600 by 1200 and the other 17" at 1280 by 1024, You'll just have to use DualView and adjust the settings for each, very easy.
The size of the window when dragged, it stays current, and WILL take more space on the lower res monitor, but I have just adjusted to that, with no trouble. I like it a lot, I move all my DM'n tables to the smaller monitor and surf as normal on the main and don't even notice the other stuff, I've even done data back ups without a hitch. -Bri |

Re: Using two LCDs with different resolutons
I do this (with CRTs) but there should be no reason that LCDs are any different.
I love having one monitor low res (essentially, larger image) and one monitor high res (more space) - my active table goes on the low res monitor (easier to see) and my other tables go on the other monitor. |

Re: Using two LCDs with different resolutons
It will work fine. Be aware that the pixel size on the 17" will be slighty larger than the 20". You get used to it pretty quickly though.
