If you are making over 100k a year playing live. I wouldnt even mess around with the online games. Throw your computer out the window and go back to the casino. As for why most people can beat live games and not online, I equate it to college football and the NFL. Thousands of guys are stars in college but only a handful can play at the next level? Why? its the speed of the game that increases and most cant keep up. Speed changes everything playing online, it affects your concentration, it then lowers your discipline and patience too.

Another problem is that most people just arent as good as they think they are. The dont keep accurate records and they exaggerate wins playing live, and suppress and/or forget about losses playing live. But when they start to play online they cant hide anymore because there is a papertrail that tells the truth. Im not calling you a lier but lets be honest for a minute, only a handfull of people in the world can and do win over 100k a year playing live poker.

It's easy to win when your opponents cold call three bets with 94o and peel an A83 flop.

Absolutely. I played online for almost 2 years before finally playing live in a casino. I nervously sat down at a 5/10 table thinking it would play the same as online. Was I ever wrong. 5/10 live was similar to .25/.50 online - I could not believe what I was seeing.

If you can beat 5/10 online for a solid winrate, I would not be surprised if you could sit down at 20/40 live. I haven't ventured to those stakes live but I do fine at the 10/20 game and I'm far from the greatest player you will every run across.

People go to casinos to get drunk and lose money. They expect to lose. They're paying for entertainment.

People play online to try to win. They want to win.

In general.
