Re: $50NL mid pp on paired flop against small stack
Shorties LOVE to c/c, c/r this kind of board with a J. I'd be soo surprised if he had a jack here. We're probably good, I'm torn between raising and folding out worse hands, and calling and seeing if he'll donk into us again on the turn with a 5/66/77/random AQ garbage.

[/ QUOTE ] My thoughts exactly, so I called hoping to raise his turn bet. Flop: ($4.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB bets $2, Hero calls $2 Turn: ($8.50) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB bets $2.50, weak bet here so I raise to let him know he's beat Hero raises to $9.50, SB raises to $14.95 and is All-In, Hero calls $5.45 River: ($38.40) Q (2 Players - 1 is All-In) Did I go wrong with my turn raise, or am I good here? Last card I would expect is a J, more likely 2 overcards or he spiked his Q on the river... |

Re: $50NL mid pp on paired flop against small stack
Raising the flop is cheaper.
Also: a lot of villains don't understand the concept of big bets. They think 2 dollar is a big bet regardless of the potsize. |

Re: $50NL mid pp on paired flop against small stack
It's a wash between raising the flop and trying to get it in on the flop and calling and seeing if he fires the turn again.
there is probably less risk in the former, but also slightly less reward imo. If he's unknown i'd just get it ai quickly. I would call and raise the turn when i knew villain was a tad more aggro. |

Re: $50NL mid pp on paired flop against small stack
I was suprised at what he had.
Results: $38.40 Pot ($1.90 Rake) Hero mucked 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 and LOST (-$18.95 NET) SB showed Q J (a full house, Jacks full of Queens) and WON $36.50 (+$17.55 NET) Bad play on my behalf? I always get a bit stuck as to how to play with mid PPs with overcards on the board. |
