How much do you use amazon.com?

I wanted to make this post a while ago, but today while I was talking with the UPS guy he told me I get more stuff off delivered to me than anyone in Isla Vista. I just checked my account and I've ordered 57 things in 2007. I'm sure people can beat that, I just wonder by how much.

To find this go to "your account" and then click the go button to view open and recently shipped orders, and use the drop down menu to select orders made in 2007.

Why leave the house? The other day I realized I didn't have a calculator. I check amazon and get a cheap one for like $4, no tax and free two day shipping. I save time and money, and I don't have to subject my delicate pasty skin to the sun's nasty cancer causing rays.

it sounds like you'd be a good candidate for amazon prime. for $80/year your household gets free 2-day shipping on most stuff with no size minimum, and $4 flat-rate overnight shipping. i don't order that much from amazon, i guess i don't order that much in general. i get almost all my music through rhapsody, and i don't read books. for 2007 i have 2 orders so far, and one of them was a gift. prime sounds kinda scary for me because of amazon's pricing history: they apparently used to charge different customers different amounts for the same items. that was a while ago, but i still wouldn't put it past them to stick it to customers that are locked-in so to speak.

i have been trying out bestbuy.com's local pickup option lately with fixed-price items like video games. it works well, i started doing it for a small environmental reason: i figure being part of a scheduled, large shipment is better than wasteful individual packaging and special delivery from their warehouse to my office/home. circuitcity.com has good local pickup service too.

I have Prime (forgot to cancel my free trial) so now I order a ridiculous amount of things from Amazon. With the shipping break, Amazon is usually the cheapest option.
