Any Hold-em in Texas?

I'll be in South Padre Island next week.

Are there any legal card rooms down there?

There with the exception of Eagle Pass (thanks for this tidbit of information motomikeh)- an Indian reservation where they spread 3/6 5/10 & 10/20, but its not easy to get a NL game. Other than Eagle Pass there are no legal cardrooms in Texas. Additionally before someone decides to chime in, the B&M forum doesn't permit the discussion of private card clubs in most situations, therefore if there are any that currently exist (they have in the past) this isn't the best place to learn about it.

None down in the Brownsville/Harlingen area of which I'm aware.

Up at Port Aransas near Corpus Christi, there is a casino ship called the Texas Treasure which goes out twice a day into int'l waters for several hours. They spread a 5-5-10-15 limit hold'em game. I played it several times in mid-2004 (was my first live poker experience), and found the game very soft, as new as I was. Was a great game, hopefully it still runs and is still soft (no reason why it wouldn't be). OTOH, it's about a 2.5-3 hr drive from South Padre, there's an admission fee to get on the boat, and gambling time is limited...so I'm not sure it's worth the trip.

If you just HAVE to get a poker fix while you're at South Padre, though, that's the closest public game of which I'm aware.
