y wont ftp open on my new dell xps 410

im running windows xp
im currently on my laptop playin 3tourneys on ftp
my new dell desktop xps 410 wont load ftp, it never gets passed the loading scrn, then it says unable to connect to the server

yes, its hooked to the internet, stars fine

any help appreciated

nm....i was too excited by new dell 30" monitor, i didnt even restart after installin it.........HA!
