NL 5: How to extract most value from a set with A on flop
Hey guys.
I feel like I really suck at extracting value in these spots. In this Hand I wasn't sure if I should just hope someone has an ace and push to stack him off or try to disguise my set and get some value from pocket pairs and not make him fold a pair of aces. I'll post each street seperately. UTG seems loose passive with about 40/0 and not too much action over 30 hands. MP2 just sat down. Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.02/$0.04 Blinds - 9 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) SB: $4.28 Hero (BB): $4.55 UTG: $6.66 UTG+1: $1.86 MP1: $1.89 MP2: $2.12 MP3: $4.70 CO: $4.65 BTN: $8.92 Preflop: Hero is dealt J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (9 Players) UTG raises to $0.12, 2 folds, MP2 calls $0.12, 4 folds, Hero calls $0.08 Flop: ($0.38) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players) Hero ? |

check call if you know UTG is fairly agressive and will bet a fair amount.

I like to lead in these situations. If he raises just call and check raise turn

Thanks guys.
Here's the rest of the hand. Should've just shoved river all-in I guess. Don't kill me for that $0.08 bet, dunno why I did that. Just didn't know what to do. Flop: ($0.38) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players) Hero bets $0.08, UTG raises to $0.24, MP2 folds, Hero calls $0.16 Turn: ($0.86) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, UTG bets $0.32, Hero raises to $1.00, UTG calls $0.68 River: ($2.86) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $1.50, UTG calls $1.50 [ QUOTE ] PS your avatar is mezmorizing lol [/ QUOTE ] Thanks. Re: NL 5: How to extract most value from a set with A on flop
I don't think villain assumes too easily that you called with a hand that has a seven in it. I might bet the pot on flop, CC turn and push river. I don't like the CR too much, since most villains do it with strong hands at least on Party I see it sometimes in those situations. Flop & river bets should be larger. I'd bet at least 2.5 on the river.
