i was thinking this exact same thing.

my plan is long gold and short dollar.

man this investing stuff must of been so much easier a few years ago with everything going up rather than sideways or down.

Iowa farmland(up 22% past 12 months) on this end is my main investment.........with the highest remaining capital in cash reserves/savings at this time.......... also have an array of hot commodities/collectibles such as silver coinage and fine art.

Also invested with a very small portion of my capital in three stocks.........Bank of America, Exxon, and Pacific Ethanol.

Currently, I do not own my residence and thus am renting an apartment until at least the end of 2008, at which time I will begin looking to purchase a home.

I don't own a home either. I will start shopping for one once I see buy 1 home get 1 free ads in the newspaper. Hovnanian Home Builder is offering "the deal of the century" this weekend. Some units are discounted by 250k. They will be giving them away soon just to get them off their books.
