cross-post from BBV, EHLP
DISCLAIMER: this was a post I put up in BBV, but thinking about it more I want some feedback on it.
5/10 6-max game. UTG folds, UTG1 limps, CO folds, I raise OTB w/A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] , SB calls, BB folds, UTG1 calls. FLOP: J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB checks, UTG1 donks, I call, SB folds. TURN: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG1 donks, I call. RIVER: Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG1 donks, I raise, UTG1 3donks OK, now usually I would raise the flop here, but I did not want to knock SB off any hand, and I want UTG1 to keep bluffing or betting a 2nd best draw. Ok now on the turn I obviously considered raising, as I almost NEVER slowplay anything 'til the river, but for whatever reason I decided he either had a 1 pair or 2 pair hand or a 2nd best flush and again I want him to keep betting his inferior hands and not fold to a raise. How awful was this not raising flop or turn, ignoring the bad beat? |

Re: cross-post from BBV, EHLP
I like preflop. The river is funny because you have a straight flush and it is very possible that you shouldn't raise (not if the guy is bad and will call a raise playing the board obviously).
Raise the flop though. They will put you on AcK every time. Not raising the flop or turn is hahaha. Oh and 5/10 is SSSH holla. |

Re: cross-post from BBV, EHLP
River raise is pretty bad. Look at what clubs are accounted for and look at the fact that a HJ open limper appears to have a flush and is betting it for value. Yes, sometimes he will have Ah 7c, or 7c 5c, or 6h 6d, but you're up against precisely Kc x a ton here.
And definitely raise on an earlier street. |

i really don't like just calling the flop [/ QUOTE ] on hindsight, of course. it is likely we raise the flop and he will donk the turn as well and we can raise again, however, I think there is merit to trying to keep SB in the hand when we basically have a dominating hand over any other possible holdings. |

what hands call 1 but not two? Not as many as we think i'd say.

Raising the river is bad here, IMO. Not raising the flop or turn is also bad.

Re: cross-post from BBV, EHLP
if you don't raise the flop he can't donk a club with no club hoping you will fold, then call your raise when you realize that players at 5/10 bet/folding is a bigger myth than loch ness
