PS Sunday Million Sat. question

Im fairly new to PokerStars and MTTs in general. I see PS hasa Sunday Million tourney and a bunch of qualifiers all the time. Now in these satellites, say the top 6 people win a seat in the bigger tourney, do they just stop playing the qualifier when it gets down to the final 6 people? This is obviously nothing important, just more out of curiosity.
