AKo facing AI
PokerStars $.25 buy-in MTT.
No read on Villain, so assume typical microstakes player (read: LAG). I'm not positive I should have called his AI. Figured Pot offered me nearly 3:1 so I called. Is calling a blunder here? Re: AKo facing AI
why are you calling an all in on the flop??... raise and re raise he prob has. QQ or JJ and it looks like he had QQ trying to protect his hand

Re: AKo facing AI
I called because pot was offering 2860:1025 = 2.8:1 and figured TT-QQ. Thinking coinflip 1:1 when pot offering 2.8:1. I only fear AA or KK here. I guess a clearer question is how often will Villain have AA or KK here?

Re: AKo facing AI
well to start out with its not a coin flip after the flop... you need about 4:1 to make this +ev if he had TT QQ
percentage wise if he had TT or QQ it would be around 22% for you and 77% for him |

Re: AKo facing AI
77%:22% is still 3.5:1. At the table I use the 2/4 rule, which leaves 24% or 3.1:1. So it is -EV if my assumption was correct.

Re: AKo facing AI
I'm jamming pre. Pretty much the end of that. You don't wait to see flops when you need to see river and you have a hand to do that. You can't be afraid to get it in.

Re: AKo facing AI
Raise more the first time around. 200 is better than 100. 2nd time around, you're calling off almost 40% of your stack, so you should not be doing that. Push or fold. I would push.

Re: AKo facing AI
calling on the flop is terrible, probably push pre as others have said. and raise more the first time.

Re: AKo facing AI
Raise to at least 150 preflop 3X + 1X*limper
As played, just calling the 600 is terrible. Why are you just calling like more than 1/3 your stack preflop? Fold or shove. Probably fold. |

[/ QUOTE ] No No. This is a $0.25 MTT. Shove AK PF. Don't fold AK PF in a $0.25 MTT. I can almost never ever bring myself to fold AK PF in any small stakes tourney I play in. |
