Default A brief meditation

Reflecting on my past and present circumstances, I have come to a general and a personally specific conclusion about life.

1) Life is mostly about the combination of luck and character.

2) Whatever I possess of the former is more than made up for by my deficits in the latter.

That is all.

About #1 what is the approximate percentage for each one

i.e. is life 75% luck and 25% character or 20% luck and 80% character?

Some would, but they're pretty much retarded, and have no conception of the differences between health and sickness, wealth and poverty, etc. Independent variables.

Read your post and immediately I was thinking of what I could possibly say that might give you comfort. But it is what it is and nothing I can say will change that for you. Just know if I had the power to change your outlook I would. Not because you are wrong but only because at this time you seem unsatisfied.

Noone is born with a strong character, and those that get everything handed to them never develop it.

Sure that is cliche and boring, but it's also true. Also you aren't dead yet, so you have that to be thankful for .

Going busto, mostly. It occurred to me that the factor that ultimately made the difference between success and failure was this - that I didn't work hard enough when it was easy, for a variety of reasons, but ultimately because I'm lazy and lack character. These are the reasons I became a card player in the first place. I kind of feel like, hell, if I can't do this, what the [censored] can I do? Blog?

Are you sure you can't do it? You did it for quite some time.

Someone as smart as yourself should stop and think about the fact that your sample size prohibits you from making either of those statements with confidence. I will let others elaborate....
