The ultimate - How much have you lost thread
I have posted before in OOT about my marital problems. It has been very difficult and something that really weighs heavily on my shoulders. But every once in a while something is said that's so funny I just have to laugh.
As soon as I read this I knew it had to go in BBV. Me - So if it is not about Nicholas and just me then what is it? The fact that we don't do much together? Well we both know I work quite a bit and the kids have a few obligations, plus seems like we're always moving them back and forth. her - That's why I would think being with me would mean a little bit more to you. Apparently it doesn't. So we're already on limited time. Me - Do I play too much poker? I would have to say that I do.... But considering our financial situation I have been very lucky. Poker has helped us out probably more than you would guess. How much did I put in our checking account last month? I think it was about $1500. Her - But how much have you lost? I didn't post this to make points about how wrong she is about everything. She definetly has some valid points. I posted this just because I thought her "but how much did you lose" to be hilarious. It was almost as funny (in a different way) as when she told me I should leave and my bags would be on the front door when I got home. Oh, they weren't and I didn't.

EDIT: Ok I get it, it's not about money, but it was kinda tl;dr so I just posted this crap. Tough beat dude.
I lost $520 last night taking a shot at 100NL. My biggest loss to date. Luckily I managed to put in some expert BlackJack play at the end of the session to cut the losses down to $370.

Well - ou are obviously missing the whole point ini relationships and you should explain to her "as an adult" about poker instead of laughing at her for her lack of knowledge.
She might be wrong but you are AS wrong by treating her like an child. Every sentence about "ME" is full of excuses. From what you posted it IS you and not her with the problem.

[/ QUOTE ] You have obviously missed my point. (I'm actually not sure if you're kidding or not) She has valid points. I am not here to ask you whether you think I'm correct or not. Because IMHO it's a rarity to be all one persons fault. If you want to pass judgement then I suggest you look for a thread I started about 3 months ago in OOT. This thread was soley about the "but how much did you lose comment that has appeared to become so popular in BBV.

My wife once asked the "how much did you lose" comment. I sat her down and told her how I don't think of it that way and explained it to her. She never mentioned it again.
And to be fair, I know a lot of people that will go gambling, say they won $X, then you later find out they lost $Y. So $X wasn't what they really won, it was X-Y. How much did you lose is still funny though.
