need a bankroll game plan for stars
okay...having a solid year on Stars (after a few bad years learning)...turned $350 to $8,800 with a number of MTT wins and lately been doing well in the Stars $12 180 man turbos...I know I'm a bankroll nit but I am still pounding these $12 180's as they have been profitable, frequent and quick (1 1/2 hours start to finish).
Can anyone suggest a better bankroll game plan? What are some better tournies to take shots at...tried some $50's but no real success (though not enough to really tell)...Not many $30 or even $20 MTTs out there... Should I play more SNGs? Played cash games but the level of coolers I was taking made them seem like a waste compared to MTTs? Just looking for a road map to the next level... Thanks all |

Re: need a bankroll game plan for stars
I agree - the 22 1+1 should be a good start. I think for now you're fine at the $12 180s atleast as a fallback and/or maingame. Maybe try out the $27 45 mans? The $27.50 25K gtd comes to mind too. I think really if you've been able to win and turn $350 into $8800 through MTTs you'd be fine at the $11 MTT level, but I do think playing SNGs is a must to keep building your bankroll.

Re: need a bankroll game plan for stars
The $11+r turbo satelites are real juicy and can help pad your roll, they start every hour or so i think.
Any of the regular rebuys from $3.30-$11's are always nice. I would also try to play any of the $11-$55 gtd. tournies. They start with 3000 chips and are also soft with big prizepools. 1-2 sets of sngs a day will help keep your roll up. |

Re: need a bankroll game plan for stars
ssnyc do you the same style in the turbo 180 as you do in regular MTT's? I have only played in 3 on the 180 turbos and all 3 times I got shortstacked early trying to be to aggressive. Are you lagging early and often or waiting for the 200-400 and up blinds to push around.

Re: need a bankroll game plan for stars
tight early...never skip a flip...have to get lucky in the middle stages and be prepared to get into battles with hands that yu would not in regular MTT's...pair above 88 and A 10+ may be hands you have to gamble with...the biggest key is pushbotting with 36 players down to 9 to steal the Blinds/antes...you cannot fold into top spots...
lot of gambling required so be prepared for variance and bankrol swings!!! |

Thanks all [/ QUOTE ] Can I ask what tourneys you started playing when BR was $350? How often did you play them? What was you ROI? I'm about to start with a BR of $700 playing the 4/180's almost exclusively. Any others I need to look at? |
