910 soooooooooooted 5 see flop....
5/10 NL
I have 9 10 clubs on button Early position raises to 35 2 callers I call on button as does one of the blinds. Flop KJ8 2 clubs The raiser is on the donk side- likes to bluff but is not crazy MP is an agressive player- is not a retard but very trappable The flop is checked to me on the button Pot is 185 Do I check or bet? Pros of betting- build a pot if I hit Might (unlikely) take it down now Cons: Initial raiser could be slowplaying a moster (although im a coinflip) I would prefer not to be blown of the hand if I can stack him for nothing if I hit I decided to check Had he led out and gotten 1 or 2 callers I would have popped it to 500 or so (obv call all in) At this point even if he did have a monster there would be 400-500 dollars in dead money in the pot so thats cool with me This would also free up flush outs(or even a queen if someone holds ace 10) This player has had toruble making laydowns in the past (granted its not usually 5 handed to the flop) so this also made me lean towards a check Flop thoughts Turn a red 4 Initial raiser bets 100 One fold Mp calls now what? |

First off - I probably bet - you've got a frick'in monster - who cares if someone pops you...
also by betting the flop - they all might check to you on after the turn - you can take the free card then. after the turn misses you - you should probably smooth call - if you hit, you'll get paid off nicely - if not, it cost you nothing. I wouldn't raise - with one card to come is not the time to get your money in. Bet, bet, bet.... |

Re: 910 soooooooooooted 5 see flop....
On flop I would bet 100-120. You can't be raised out. You will at least thin the field and if the others just call, you have set up a good bluff on turn if you don't hit. If you hit, your draw is not that obvious to the others and you should have a good chance to take a nice pot.
Since you didn't bet the flop, I don't see any reason to raise the turn. Nothing has really changed that should make you choose a new strategy and now your odds to win are much smaller than on the flop. Just call and hit |

Re: 910 soooooooooooted 5 see flop....
betting flop is fine (and will be the default advice you receive here), checking flop, calling turn is also ok.
check flop, raise turn is a wack line that you should avoid |

I would 2/3 to 75% of the pot on the flop.

Re: 910 soooooooooooted 5 see flop....
i check raise all in on that flop all day, hopefully stealing tons of dead money as people want to cold call on the flop and not stack here (considering its 5 way)
