Ask Bod about his acid dropping friend who developed schizoprhenia
When i was in hs i dropped alot of acid. Acid became the catalyst for my friends schizophrenia.. He believes he can manipulate seagulls and thinks philosophy is the ability to read minds. Ask whatever you'd like. I'll probably have to consult with my friend tomoorrow to answer most questions but ask away and they weill be answered.

No, after it happened he was in the mental section of the local hospital. He was there for about 7 months while they figured which cocktail of anti-psychotic worked the best

I have a friend as well who was diagnosed with this. His first episode was triggered after a highschool fight. It's really sad because all the drugs he's taken has changed him irrevocably and he's a completely different person from the guy i used to know.
My questions are: What type of medication does he have to take? Does he have to live in a special home? Does he do any recreational drugs (including alcohol)? If he does, what effect do these have on him?

Schizophrenia would have developed in him regardless of his acid dropping. Although that could have accelerated it.
It usually has an onset of late teens early 20's and is much more prevelent in males. Nick

happened to my friend who took some shrooms. so very sad, he was one of the coolest people i had ever met but after the schitz he had to move back home.

Yeah people, drugs don't just "cause" schizophrenia. It's predetermined, and something is going to trigger it sooner or later. You can't avoid it.

I know someone who did a lot of acid for many years while he was in hs and college. Trying to have a conversation with him is near impossible! The only word I can think of is "disconnected". He's pretty out there. Based on my sample size of 1, I'm curious if acid has irreversible effects on the brain. I know nothing about this stuff. Is this a typical result of over use of acid or is my friend just a weirdo?
Also, are you guys saying that acid could trigger schizophrenia even though not cause it?
