this draft is pretty pathetic b/c there's not a single star but miller, crawford, brezec, peterson, claxton, magloire, Q-Rich, thomas, mason and turkoglu are all functional rotation guys in the league at least

I think Gary Payton alone makes 1990 better. Derrick Coleman, Jayson Williams, and Tyrone Hill also all made the all star team during their careers.

1986 does look pretty bad. I'd say that its comparable to 2000. Brad Daugherty might make 1986 slightly better though. He wasn't bad: 5 time all star, 21st best shooting percentage in NBA history, 75th leading scorer in NBA history, 94th best player efficiency rating in NBA history. Also I'm not sure exactly how we should factor Sabonis in, as he was a great, great player. Its just that he played his prime overseas.

Daugherty had a better career than anyone in the 2000 first round, perhaps, but I think there are more solid contributors in 2000 than in 1986.

It would have to be an MLB or NHL draft because so many of those guys fade away before getting anywhere near ther pros.

You can't compare an MLB or NHL or NFL or NBA draft to each other. You need to look at how a draft compares to other draft in their respective sports.

The 1986 draft was just a really bad unlucky draft, injuries, drugs, etc. It was a pretty good draft class though.
