KK in $3K NL final table. can i fold?
8 handed in the 3k NL event, im utg with about 500k, beth shak 2 to my left with 500k, phil hellmuth on her left with 200k. (stacks approximate but close) (side note that impacts my decision.. on the last level (10k-20k) utg shoves for ~100k, utg+1 shoves for ~300k, beth shack shoves over the top in th middle for 700k. hands K9, 88, AQ for beth, 88 holds...)
blinds 15k-30k 3k ante. i open to 80k with KK, beth shak says, i raise, counts her chips a bit, and goes all in. phil hellmuth SNAP CALLS all in. he HAS to have aces here, even if he has kings he is going to hollywood a bit in case someone has aces... everyone folds and i tank. other side note: phil ivey appears to be coaching beth (a tight player who seems to only play top 10 hands) during the tournament. If i fold the hand i have 420k. If i beat beth and lose to phil i have 600k. If i scoop the pot i have 1.6 million six handed against 1 million, 700k, and smaller.. ***my main problem is that i was focused on phil's chips and i wanted to make sure i would still profit if i called and beat beth. i wasnt concerned about her at all and i didnt really look at her. apparently her body language was ridiculously obvious that she had AA.. once i realized i would profit 180k by beating beth (with a chance to crack phil) i called. no king and im out in 8th.. i just cant find a fold here although if i saw how she was acting maybe i should have... im bb for 30k next hand with only 420k and the blinds will go up pretty soon... king one time im big chipleader |
