TPGK vs UTG poster and terrible river card
No reads on villain as it's his first hand at the table. I had no clue whether I should have bet this river or not.

Re: TPGK vs UTG poster and terrible river card
Looks like he has an ace.. Some players could play a flush like this though (hit their hand, but dont want to get raised when the board pairs).
The question is how often you think he will pay off an other bet with a worse ace than you versus the times you are "valuebetting" the worst hand. Afterall, he could hold a 9 too. In isolation versus an unknown I may lean towards checking here. This way you also gain info on how this new player plays. Versus a station or with a lagtard image its a clear bet. |

I think FlyingStart nailed this perfectly. It's ok just to check behind here but vs some villian theres value to be hand.
