Working at a Central Bank
I’ve just recently been offered a graduate position in the Financial Markets department at the Reserve Bank of Australia. I was wondering if anybody here has worked at a central bank and/or what your thoughts are, specifically in terms of future career opportunities?
Would experience at a central bank be looked favourably upon by investment banks and other financial institutions for example? They have a highly regarded graduate program (So I was surprised to get an offer) and the starting salary is definitely above average for economics/finance graduates but I presume there are going to be more limitations in terms of future salary than other jobs. Your comments are much appreciated. |

Re: Working at a Central Bank
I wouldn't be too concerned about salary if you were considering applying for this job. You'll probably be comfortable, even if you have to commute to accomodate your lifestyle.
