Explain logic, get fired (college professor explaining guns)

During the demonstration, Winset pretended to shoot some students. Then one student pretended to shoot Winset to illustrate his point that the gunman might have been stopped had another student or faculty member been armed.

Reason number 2 that I don't discuss politics in class (that I don't want to be fired). Reason number 1 is that I teach a PHYSICS CLASS. This guy taught a finance class. I would ask, "WTF was he thinking" if it weren't for the proviso that the administration specifically asked the faculty to engage in discussions about the shooting incident. Because of that, I would say the administration are acting like jackasses.

rotfl, you reminded me of the people who used to complain about physics. Namely they couldn't understand that if you lean on a wall the wall leans on you. However, since this is politics, my mind translated it to "If you lean on government, government leans on you."

Perhaps. But it also said that most of the students didn't seem to think it was offensive.

There's a lot of this going on in primary schools as wells. Children are being repremanded for shooting imaginary "index + thumb," guns. I am a father of a child that age and if he gets in trouble for doing this I will gladly remove him from that school.

That being said, this is ridiculous, but I'd love to hear the full story.

It's highly unlikely that this is the WHOLE reason he got fired. If it is, that sucks. Professionals are idiots though for not unionizing, so they really bring this on themselves.
