Default Immaculate Solos

About ten years ago when I was having my (first) early-mid-life crisis I decided to take up guitar, and had an excellent instructor. One day he introduced me to the concept of the "Immaculate Solo", a term he coined to describe a guitar solo so perfect that you could not improve it. I immediately liked the idea, because it really clicks for me. There are some solos that I will just back up the CD on and listen to over and over again, and can't believe they could possibly be improved upon (except in some cases to simply be made longer).

Note that this is not particularly a matter of virtuoso skill, or shredding speed, or even the greatness of the song as a whole. Just the solo.

My first one is a perfect example of this, as I don't even care for the song too much. The solo is better than the song. Most people who've heard the song have never even heard the solo, because the radio edit either truncates it or leaves it out entirely, which is a travesty.

I give you the guitar solo from My Sharona, by The Knack. Just jump to the 2:40 mark. This is just an amazing, jamming, cruising solo that is far, far better than the song that contains it.

I have a few more, but I'll start with that one and see what comes out of the woodwork.

The first solo fits the OP's description better than the second imo.

'Have You Heard' - Eric Clapton with John Mayall and the Bluesbreaker.

Not only can this not be improved, it may be some of the finest electric blues ever recorded.

Tunnel of Love by Dire Straits. Great song all around but skip to a few minutes before the end if you just want to hear the solo.

This solo changed my life. Duane's part is sublime (the second half.)

Blue Sky

Also, if you ever get a chance to hear You Don't Love Me/Soul Serenade from the box set, it is really incredible.
