Default Continuation betting... PLO8

Don't do it unless your raise put you heads up or your against a weak/tight player?

Or should it be something i do fairly often?

As with most questions like this, it's difficult to answer without reference to the other players. For example, if your table is filled with calling stations, why would you continually c-bet missed flops?

Question seems open ended. However, looking at my stats I raise preflop 7.91% of the time and either bet or raise the flop 50% of those times/ at .25/.50 if that helps at all. Sounds like you do it too little if I had to guess.

actually, probally to much, I do it almost every time there are 3 or less player (counting me) on the flop...

This is a loose/passive table full of bad players...

$50PL is where I'm currently playing..

I feel like i'm getting called a lot, even HU because many times they hit the flop at least a little and they are calling stations... It goes against my gut to raise preflop and then check/fold the flop..

The more I think about it the more I think that the correct way to play these players is to not cbet without something 90% of the time.

I think flop texture should play into this question.

Say you raised in late position with four limpers already in. You have a hand like Kd Ks Qd 9s. Three of the limpers call.

With a hand like this and with multiple opponents, you're going to run into WAY more flops that are no good for C-Betting than they are good for C-Betting.

An example of a good flop would be something like:

9h 2c Js

You have an over pair, middle pair, and an inside straight draw. There are no immediate flush dangers. If you do get called, exercise caution against your opponents.

Another good flop would be something like:

7c 7h Js

It'd be rare if you get called here by anything other than a boat, trips, or quads. Most times everybody will be laying down. The only other non-boat, trips, or quads hand that may call here is a hand like A2Jx who thinks Top Pair may be good while looking for running low or running flush cards.

Bad C-Betting flops are:

* Any three low
* Two Low One High that doesn't give you top set
* or Two Low, Two suited with a suit that you don't have
* Any flop with an Ace that doesn't give you the Nut Flush Draw or a set.
* Low pairs like 22, 33, 44, & 55

Obviously, knowing your players will help you during the turn and river if you do happen to get called on a C-Bet.
