Great to hear, I've been clean for a while too but I don't count the days anymore. I went to rehab a couple of years ago for a few weeks and it was a great experience, unfortunately afterward I never got around to attending a meeting in my area. I've maintained without them, but it was a cool experience being present for the meetings that my rehab center hosted for the public every Friday/Saturday.

Okay, I didn't realize I was sworn to secrecy. How foolish of me to fall asleep during that oath. So yeah, I was never, ever a part of any NA meeting. In fact, I have never even heard of them.

If people are comfortable talking about whether they attend meetings or not, they will come forward, no one is putting a gun to their head and asking them to "out themselves" as if it is embarrasing to admit.

your allowed to tell people you go to meetings your just not allowed to say someone else does. theres tons of people on this forum i figured there has to be a few recovering addicts and alchlcs.

If you are "1000 days sober", are you still an alcoholic?

(serious question)

I had to a bunch of AA/NA meetings so the courts would overturn a drug offense. I just sat there quietly and did nothing (although I did participate/contribute when asked) It was just clear to everyone that I was there to get a paper signed. Do people that are serious about the program resent students like me? What about students/people that say Oh hi i'm so and so, "I'm not an alcoholic, I'm just observing"

Not much to add, but congrats to Jordie and Demetia. I've known people who went through addictions and it is tough.
