Default State Run Online Casinos for Charity, Education Etc

This was an interesting read:

http://www.pokerpages.com/poker-news/new...ward--29926.htm

It basically states that a guy named Tuff Fish is going to petition the state of CA to open an Online casino with proceeds to fix the roads. He claims that under the UIGEA a state can be basically FORCED to open an online casino with proceeds directed to 'good things' as defined by, well 'me'...

I've not actually read the whole UIGEA -- might be time to do that.

Oh and he also claims that states can set up what I'd call teaming agreements with other states thus extending the player bases.

If this is true, it time for us to start building up the votes in our respective states since people LOVE to gamble and Republicans are LEAVING THE BUILDING (Except hopefully Mr. Paul )

Thoughts? Only acceptable flame allowed here is: wrong forum donkey...

Surely, though, it's the correct forum, what with being concerned with Internet Gambling, an' all.

Horrible idea. I don't want to be involved in any gambling that includes my state. Let them regulate it, but not own it.

There are long, long threads on this in the Legislation forum, complete with replies from the famous Tuff Fish, himself.
