Point-and-click Adventure/Puzzle Games
<u>The Submachines</u>
These were all very fun. Leaps and bounds ahead of the Rooms both in graphics and puzzle quality, the Submachines offered eerie visuals and music to a bizarre plot. Submachine 4 was the best of the Submachines. Submachine 1: The Basement Submachine 2: The Lighthouse Submachine 3: The Loop Submachine 4: The Lab <u>Covert Front</u> Made by the same guy who did the Submachines, Covert Front is a bit easier than Sub 4 but has a more comprehensive plot and a good interface. It's part of a series that hasn't been finished yet, so the ending isn't conclusive. Covert Front: Episode 1 <u>Daymere Town</u> I haven't played it yet, but it looks great. It's apparently very difficult. Daymere Town <u>The Rooms</u> Crimson Room was the first game of this genre that I played. The classic plot of "you drank too much, and now you're locked in a room" was enough to make this game a flash sensation. 2 of the items in Crimson are stupidly difficult to find, but Viridian and White improved on the Crimson Room formula of Engrish and blocky graphics. Re: Point-and-click Adventure/Puzzle Games
Played Daymere Town it looks good and is logical but some of the objects are too small to comfortable see and some areas are hard to get to because you don’t realize you can go there.

Nice post. I've found the Submachine series to be the most enjoyable.

Re: Point-and-click Adventure/Puzzle Games
The submachine games are great -- I'd played 1 before, but didn't even know there was a 2-4 (and a "zero", I guess). 2 was good, but I'm mad I didn't figure out the 4-digit code on my own. 3 seemed pretty uninteresting (does it get better than the first couple of passwords?) so I skipped to 4, which is very cool so far.
I'm eager to try some of these other ones too, but unfortunately I also have a [censored] job. Thanks for posting these, though... |

Re: Point-and-click Adventure/Puzzle Games
Submachine 1 was nice and easy, Submachine 2 was even better.
I didn’t get the code either I also failed to see two doors and I wasn’t thrilled about the dark tunnel maze. All these games suffer from hard to see objects or doors. |

Re: Point-and-click Adventure/Puzzle Games
submachine 4 is just stupid. pretty well impossible without pointless trial and error.

Re: Point-and-click Adventure/Puzzle Games
Where is it impossible without guessing? I got through almost all of Sub 4 without any help. The 2 things I looked up weren't complicated, I just missed them.

Re: Point-and-click Adventure/Puzzle Games
Got through Submachine 4 and liked it a lot. I only got 19/21 secrets though... I'm almost tempted to go back through to find them all, but that's a lot of crap to look through for two little dots.
