[NL200] AKs RRPF vs short stake. Missed flop : odds ?
Villain is very aggro on a small sample (33/25/9, 24 hands).
What was my best line vs a short with AKs/AQs before the flop : - just call with the position, hope to hit a K or Ace and stack him ? - make a big reraise who commit me to the pot (40$, for example) ? - make a small reraise who don't commit me (20$, for example) but who commit him (maybe he will push ?) ? I think I have take the worst line, by making a standard reraise to 27$. I have not the odds to call against a pair if I missed the flop, but if we add some garbage hands (QJs, hearts, 9To), I got almost the odds... Re: [NL200] AKs RRPF vs short stake. Missed flop : odds ?
Since hes very aggro (albeit a small sample) but id be more inclined to play for his stack here and make a big raise, commiting yourself. Your ahead of most of his range unless hes on a sick rush!

Re: [NL200] AKs RRPF vs short stake. Missed flop : odds ?
I don't really like the reraise here. Think about it, what is he going to call you with? You just cut out the profitable part of his range, weaker aces and KQ etc. Now you're only getting called probably by a medium PP, and you are a small dog to any pocket pair anyway, let alone on the flop you're not going to hit 50% of the time so that makes this move I believe -ev. If you really want to put pressure on him I'd just shove, at least your folding equity is high and you get to see all five cards. The problem with that is that if the blinds wake up with KK or AA you just got screwed. If you just raise enough to put him all in it's still a huge pot, what do you do if the BB or SB pushes? are you going to call?
You have position so I say use it to your advantage and just call, play poker after flop. No point in pushing trying to push a laggy guy off a hand, you're better playing passive and getting him to stack himself. |

So, again a short stake (-40 BB), is it better to just call with the position PF ?

Re: [NL200] AKs RRPF vs short stake. Missed flop : odds ?
Just stick in PF if he has this left. Maybe not with 2 left behind. As played call the flop allin. Your getting 2.7 to 1
and your 3.14 to 1 if your overcard outs are good and you have the best hand enough to compensate. Stove it and put A-3,7,8 7-8 plus flush + straight draws and find out for sure. |
