Villain is a 21/18 semiregular. He's raised the button a little over aggro and this is the first time I've 3bet.

JTo is not the hand to do 3bet with oop. Postflop looks ok, calling river would be ok also depending on villains tendencies.

I prefer a different hand to 3-bet with, like 75s or 22 but whatever. I know it seems like betting the flop turns your hand into a bluff, and in a way it does. But villain is going to have a weak hand here a ton and there's a decent amount of money in the pot so I don't mind taking it down now.
Another thing that makes me want to bet the flop and shutdown afterward is the fact that with the line you took, villain knows you have a weak made hand. Thus if he decides to bluff the turn he's usually bluffing the river. And if we're not willing to call 2 streets with this hand I'd rather just bet the flop and take it from there. Also how's NY treating you? Thought you didn't have time for poker :P (this is Blake btw) |

If you're 3-betting, then you should be betting this flop. Villians range, unless he just likes to donk float in 3-bet pots, is going to be pretty narrow on this flop. Now give me a break down on what % of the time you turn this hand into a bluff versus a value bet?

Bet the flop. It's really unlikely he has much of a hand because KK will usually shove preflop vs your big RR and you have a jack so Jacks are down to 1 pair. I would try to play your hand strong as a bluff rather than try to get value.
