Default Laptop Resolution Question

I have a Dell Inspiron E150S 15" widescreen laptop, and can not get the screen size/resolution to look correct. I have worked with Dell support which hasn't gotten me very far. Things on the screen tend to look stretched horizontal.

Currently I have set at 1400 X 1050 which appears to be the best. Since I know very little about this topic can anyone offer any advice on how to get this set correctly? Let me know if I need to provide more information.

Default Re: Laptop Resolution Question

Most 15" optimal screen resolutions are going to be even lower than that so it might just be that you are raising the resolution too high. I have a 15" and the optimal resolution is set at like 1280x800 or so.
