AA vs overcaller on lowboard - b/f turn?
No big history or data on villain, smells like hes overcalling w speculative hands/pp:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $10 BB (6 handed) by Hand Converter CG saw flop|saw showdown Button ($987) SB ($446.35) BB ($1002) Hero ($1000) MP ($1210.75) CO ($1361.55) Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Hero raises to $35, MP folds, CO calls $35, Button folds, SB folds, BB calls $25. Flop: ($110) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, Hero bets $82, CO folds, BB calls $82. Turn: ($274) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero checks. River: ($274) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets $210, Hero calls $210. Im basically beating a bluff on the river but I guess if Id try to fold the (underrepped) Aces somehow in this pot after cbetting ppl will stop replying?! Is bet/fold the turn the better line compared to this one?! |

Re: AA vs overcaller on lowboard - b/f turn?
If he's smart, he knows you'll be double barreling a lot here with air, so he should peel again to see what you do on the river. If he's dumber, he won't see that you only check behind made hands here, and he'll fire a lot of bluffs off on the river. All depends if you're comfortable in folding to a turn c/r.

Bet turn. As played, I'm pretty sure you have to call the river...

I'd bet/fold turn, get value from the straight draws or other pairs which think ur using the king as a scare card. Id fold river as played, there is really nothing u beat and I doubt he is value betting 108 here. |

Re: AA vs overcaller on lowboard - b/f turn?
Yeah, I probably b/f without a read or anything.
markuisis, I think that we have to call the river after we checked behind on the turn. We induced a bluff... |

Re: AA vs overcaller on lowboard - b/f turn?
Maybe he has T8 and is betting. Maybe he is turning a small pair into a bluff. You never know. You can't check behind on the turn and fold to a river bet imo...

[/ QUOTE ] I hate this kind of thinking, the only reasonable thing to do is consider possible hands which play this way and whether or not we r ahead of that range. It is very unlikely that a small pair with SD value decides to bluff the river after it pretty much seems we r giving up on the turn. And I mentioned that he coooould be value betting 108 but that it is unlikely and even if we expect him to always value bet it AND sometimes turn a small pair into a bluff (both very unlikely IMO) - we r still far behind his river betting range. Here r some hands that I think r in villain's range that have us beat: 33, 77, 99, TT, 97s, 68s and 910s. |
