Default What goals do you set for yourself as a pro?

Not long ago I stopped setting monetary goals like "win $x by this date" because I can't control that and if I do set monetary goals I push myself unnecessarily and play when I shouldn't.

I really haven't set goals in the past, but I'm going to write some things down and post it where I can see it every day. Some goals I have for myself are:

1. Make the correct decision on every hand. Every bet. Every day. Take your time and THINK about everything. Put the players on a hand range before you put a single dollar into the pot. Re-evaluate after every street. There are times when I act too fast or when I put the player on one hand..
2. Don't play if you don't feel right for whatever reason. Focus on the game, not the game on TV.
3. Play without fear. Play tight and agressive.
4. Attempt to play 30-35 hours a week including online play but do NOT, NOT, NOT push yourself to get hours in if you don't feel right. (I stopped wearing a watch to the casino which has helped like you wouldn't believe.) Consider playing a set schedule. Since I do this for a living I feel like I'm giving up money if I'm not playing and at times I've forced myself to play. Most of the time the result is a loss.
5. Take frequent breaks, drink lots of water. Eat something at least every hour; powerbar, yogurt, fruit.
6. Workout 3-4 times a week
7. Eat healthy
8. Do not worry about daily results. Play for the long term.
9. Play if the game is good and you've got the best of it.
10. If you're not playing well take a half hour break. Get something to eat, clear your head and come back. If you're still not playing well then get up and leave right away.

I'd be anxious to hear what goals everyone else sets for themselves.

Never go broke.

[/ QUOTE ] Do whatever you can to avoid going broke or having your bankroll take a significant hit. All it takes is a few weeks of laziness and some less than ideal bankroll management to end up in a hole it will take you months to get out of.

5k hands per week as a minimum. Its a hobby and a partime job sorta but I never look at how much money i won or should win for the week. I just try to meet my hand requirements.

I don't set goals. I just make what is the correct decision at any given moment. I don't play tired is about the only thing.

There's nothing wrong with snacking all the time, it can be done in a healthy and probably beneficial way.
