Default Old paper: What would you do

One of my friends recently asked me if I had any old argumenentative research papers he could use for his class.
(BTW, I cannot spell)

Here is the catch: I do indeed have an old paper on the death penalty. When I told him that, he said "yes! that would be perfect, my teacher told me to write one on that topic!"
BTW I am a very good writer and I suspect his instructor would know he had not composed that piece of writing. Also, I didnt feel like supporting plagarism or not making him "work" for a grade. I told him I couldnt find it on my PC and must have deleted it, but would let him know if i found it.

Do I give him the paper?

I give it to him, but that's just because I'm a good friend.

I send it, no problem. I can understand why one wouldn't though.

This may sound awfully "intrinsic" but if I send him the paper I could be depriving him of some language skills which he would have gained had I not sent it to him.

Also, I find it uncomfortable to know that I helped a friend "cheat" for a grade

I can understand not wanting to send the paper (although I would), but do you honestly believe sending him one essay is depriving him of "language skills"?

Good point. That is probably me trying to justify me not wanting to give him the paper because of ego issues. e.g. -> "that's my paper, I did the work for it why should I give it to him"

If he is just going to turn it in as is, no way in hell do I give it to him.

Why would you help someone cheat? If you go to the same school, you will be expelled just as quickly as he is.

If he just wants the paper to get some ideas for his own, then I think thats fine.
